All-new VariMAX – all the speed you want and all the time you need

If you want the freedom to fish all day, with unmatched control of your boat, you can’t go past MotorGuide’s all-new VariMAX electric trolling motor.

Designed to have the longest run time of any motor in its class, the VariMAX also offers the advantage of precise variable speed adjustment – so you’ll never have to settle for a little too fast or a bit too slow.www.mercurymarine.com.au
Available from May 2009, VariMAX motors feature MotorGuide’s proven digital variable-speed technology – designed to provide three times more battery power from a single charge than other five-speed motors in its class – meaning you get more fishing hours every time you hit the water.

“This is certainly one trolling motor that provides precision speed selection to best suit your fishing conditions while the increased battery life ensures you won’t be left stranded,” said Paul McLean, Mercury Marine’s Aftermarket and Accessories Director.

“Avid anglers will be quick to recognise upgrades that are not only aesthetic but add functionality too.”

The BluVis function gauge gives maximum visibility and control by showing direction, speed setting and the remaining battery power.

MotorGuide has also redefined transom mounts with its Taper-Lock which eliminates slack via a tapered pin that ensures solid engagement year after year. A one-touch rapid-slide depth adjustment collar and “no pinch” tilt mechanism add the final touches on the VariMAX’s functionality.
Offering maximum control, value and profit, as well as the digital guts to get the job done day in and day out, the VariMAX is available in models ranging from 18.2 – 31.8kg thrust.

Fish longer, at exactly the speed you want, without making a sound and with the extreme durability of digital.

Daiwa Tournament Master Z-I- New Release

TMZ-I …the new Super Interline revolution.   Imagine the ultimate sports fishing rods… rods designed with the latest revolutionary technology…development expenditure is irrelevant and performance is priority. Then imagine no more….Tournament Master Z Interline.Click here for information at Daiwa Australia website
The fishing rod has been in existence for hundreds of years, the basic design with the combination of blank, guides, reel seat and handles has remained the same since its inception. New technology has seen improvements in materials like graphite, silicone guides and hypalon but in reality the basic principle design has never changed.

Daiwa’s rod engineers recognised this and in the mid 1990’s the introduction of Interline took the world by storm. This revolutionary design concept saw the elimination of guides and introduced the Interline design – no guides, no tangles, no stress… the fishing rod evolved into the most advanced design ever…Interline.

For the past few years Daiwa Australia and Daiwa Japan’s rod engineers have been working together to design the world’s best rods. In 2009 Daiwa Australia is proud to introduce the most technically advanced rods ever seen, the Tournament Master Z Interlines. Two years in development TMZ will revolutionise and influence the rods of the future.

Nobody puts graphite, specialized composites and customized components to better work than Daiwa, matching and enhancing the properties of each to produce the most advanced performance rods in the world today. TMZ-I rods utilize the incredible SVF (super high volume fibre) carbon, combining precise resin control with unidirectional graphite fibre to make one of the lightest, strongest and most sensitive blanks ever developed. Uniting SVF with the famous Linear Interline design, the new “Super Interline” introduces for the first time in Australia “Hyper Dry” technology – a super water repellent dry polymer that offers the smoothest casts ever seen in a rod. Internally the raised interline spiralling when magnified 10,000 times looks like a rough coral reef several microns deep, capable of holding water and grit, limiting the rods casting ability. “Hyper Dry” technology, the super high water repellent dry polymer reduces the surface roughness to only 0.5 microns, causing water to bead at a 160 degree axis, previous interlines produced a 110 degree axis. The higher the bead axis the quicker water can be discharged, thus reducing line drag. Developed over four years, Hyper Dry produces a smooth running line flow, matching conventional guided rods, previously this could never be achieved without the introduction of “Hyper Dry” technology.

Adding to the development of Hyper Dry, the newly designed linear spiralling has allowed the raised convex spiral to have a smaller perfectly rounded peak, decreasing line contact and drag thus increasing distance and accuracy by drawing the water off the line and keeping the line centred in the rod. By increasing the amount of spirals (up to 200 spiral points in a 1.8m section) and deceasing the spiral peak, TMZ-I rods have become inherently more sensitive, more contact points means higher transfer of vibration and movement, compared to guided rods which only have a minimal number of guides as contact points.

The new generation super interlines are like no other. Like its predecessors it does away with external guides and uses the famous internal raised spiral blank thus putting an end to tangling and slack line. Adding to this with the development of SVF and Hyper Dry, the all new design introduces a fine diameter blank that resists twisting, eliminating blank stress, creating better casting accuracy, even smoother drag pressure and greater hook setting power.

The Merits of Interline Technology

1. Smooth bending curve – Interline rods bend evenly, no stress points provides maximum blank strength, unlike guided rods which create an uneven segmented curve with high stress points.

2. 360 degree axially symmetric tip – completely tangle free and provides equal performance at any angle, standard tip guides tangle easily and to get full performance they must be used at the same direction as the line.

3. No external weight – normal guides add weight, thus the action of the blank is degraded, Interlines guide structure is integrated inside the blank, and no external weight means the blanks true action is achieved.

4. Torque free – the line is located inside the blank, no guides to provide torque stress points, with many contact points torque and friction is reduced, normal external guides create high friction and torque reducing the life of the blank.

5. Linear Interline raised spirals – line is distributed evenly along the entire spiral structure, providing smoother retrieves and ultra smooth drag pressure.

6. No guides – no tangles, no guide breakages, even line control with convenient no tangling storage.

7. Extremely high sensitivity – with up to 200 linear contact points directly onto highly sensitive carbon, Interlines are inherently more sensitive compared to standard rods, guides are made of materials that absorb vibration “dulling” line sensitivity.

8. No slack line – standard guided rods can have up to 30 cm’s of slack line due to the segmented guide distribution whereas interline provides completely even line distribution, even the subtlest of bites are felt and strikes are instantaneous.

9. Entrance Guides – silicone entrance guides are located at precise locations to reduce drag and funnel line quicker than standard guides. The quicker the line is funnelled the smoother, further and more accurate the cast.

10. Cool factor – ok it’s not a technical benefit like the above facts, but these are the coolest, funkiest and sexiest most technically advanced rods available.
